Autumn is Upon Us!

It's been a whirlwind of a year. I have not had many dogs looking for their forever home, so I'll use this space to share some exciting events. I just returned home from Chihuahua Club of America Nationals in St. Louis, MO. What a week. It could take me the rest of the month to recover. I'm SO proud that Joy, Krispin Rejoyce bred by Dail Corl and Beth Thursby won an Award of Merit at the Nationals!! It was a huge honor to have been noticed in that room full of gorgeous dogs!!

As I review the season so far I realize how MUCH I have to be proud of. It is said that only handlers can win group placements. But apparently that's not always true. This year dogs that I have handled have won many wonderful honors. Armando, Carousel's Lovin Spoonful, has won several group placements! So exciting!! And Joy won a Group 2nd and Dolly, Sandy's Babes Party Doll, bred by Sandy Files and owned by Dail Corl also won a Group 2nd out of the classes over the #1 smooth coat and the #1 long coat in the country!! What fun!! And little Herbie, Krispin Hear Me Roar owned and bred by Dail Corl finished his championship out of the 6-9 classes. I love that little guy! In the national standings, Armando is currently 14th long coat chihuahua in breed statistics, 8th in All-breed and 3rd in Owner Handled. That should get us an invitation to Eukanuba. SO EXCITING!! :)
 

Beautiful Grand Champion has found his forever family

This boy is ALWAYS smiling! He's such a happy bit of sunshine and will make a wonderful addition to a family! He loves to run and play. His current Mom hopes for a family to love him and a fenced in yard because she will worry about him otherwise. :) He is 2 years young and fully up to date on shots. He has been health tested and comes with a CHIC#. He will be neutered prior to placement. Let me know if you think he would be a good addition to your family!

Show Season is upon Us!

It has been SUCH fun showing my funny little friends! Armando has gotten 2 group placements this month and has been having a blast showing as a special. Joy is perilously close to finishing her championship and little Herbie is getting ready to start his career with his first real show in a couple of weeks. I love these funny little guys!!

Connie's a lovely girl but she's ready to go to her forever home. She's such a wonderful house guest. She's so friendly and loving and just an all-around sweet girl to have around. She's a year old and really wants her own people to love her always. Let me know if you have the right lap for Connie!! :)

My How Time Flies!!

It's been a crazy busy year at Kalliope Chihuahuas! We've been doing a lot of showing (and a lot of winning!) And I've been terrible at updating! But spring is around the corner. (Really! It must be!) I don't have many new additions looking for homes right now, but while my whelping box is empty, my friend's girls have been prolific! So there are a lot of new puppies out there, some of whom will be looking for homes soon, no doubt. So stay tuned!! In the meantime, here's some of what we've been up to:
